8 Years | July Self Portrait

Jonathan and I celebrate eight years of marriage this month.
I can’t tell you how many times I flash back to that warm day in July when I married him.
Being surrounded by everyone we loved and promising things to each other.
Better, richer, health.
Worse, poorer, sickness.

In the blink of an eye, he and I were us.
But in many ways we already were. I met him at 17, with life and its vast possibilities ahead.
Some part of me knew before the rest of me did, that I would never say no.
At 19 I had a ring. At 20, we made it official.
And now we will continue to spend our days and years,
marveling at how well we fit.

***This is the continuation of a self-portrait series on the blog. It’s a great way to expand creative skills and document
your year in a fresh, memorable way.  If you are a blogger or creative professional, you should give it a try!

I couldn’t ask for a better daughter-in-law. I’m so glad you said yes to my son. And this is a great photo. I love you both. <3

I love this Abby. So beautifully intimate. 🙂
