Rustic Oaks Springtime Wedding

Alec and Sarah were married on Friday at Rustic Oaks in Moorhead, MN! Remember their engagement session that ended in the sunflower field? So fun! These two live in Ohio and both work in the medical field. Alec’s family is based in this area and the couple decided to plan a wedding in the Fargo-Moorhead region! I’m so grateful for the chance to know this friendly, outgoing,colorful and maybe sliiiiiightly nerdy couple and have a chance to photograph their “Alice-in-Wonderland meets Star Wars” Rustic Oaks Springtime Wedding. A super thoughtful wedding day gift from Alec that made Sarah tear up. She had to enlist the help of her mom and bridesmaids to read each piece of paper.

While Sarah finished dressing, Alec opened his wedding day gift.

And then it was time to get the day started! Love these moments!!

We snuck Sarah’s dad out for a first look. It was easy to see the bond these two share.

Ceremony!

This is the first time I’ve seen a Unity Painting.

The dads were looking pretty snazzy during the social hour in their custom hats.

Alec might have gotten a little aggressive during the cake cutting.

Sarah got him back!

Sarah’s dad had great socks, and showed off his amazing flexibility during the newlywed shoe game.

Even with her arm in a cast, this determined bridesmaid caught it!

Alec found the garter eventually.

A first dance to remember. These two have been practicing!

And of course we weren’t leaving without capturing some sunset and night portraits.

Believe it or not, it was a cloudy, cold day with even some snow and freezing rain throughout the morning.
But as soon as we stepped into this field, the sun shone through the clouds and gave its blessing on the day! It was the best moment.
