Photo Location Ideas in Fargo-Moorhead
Are you looking for photo location inspiration in the Fargo-Moorhead area? I’ve been a photographer in the region for 15 years and here are some of my go-to spots!
While inspiration is helpful, it’s important to know that the location is only a small part of what makes a great photo. Light is always more important than the location and will change with time of day, season and weather. It’s amazing to me how I can shoot at the same locations all year and get totally different images! No matter what location we choose, I will always look for the light. If the light is better across the street from where we planned to shoot…we’ll probably move!
If you’ve ever tried to duplicate a “Pinterest” image you’ll know that it’s impossible to create exact copies because there are a LOT of factors that make up a great photo. Along with lighting, your outfits, personality, the emotion of the moment, body language and the image composition all work together to create something new!
From outdoor, lush green settings to busy, urban streets – there are locations to fit every style. As you choose your location, think about how you’ll be using the photos. If prints from your session will hang in your home, perhaps there is a color scheme you want to follow. Or maybe you want the session to match the vibe of your upcoming wedding. Whatever your preferences, I’m always happy to provide tips and suggestions.
