Are you ready for this post?! You might want to sit down.
Pour yourself some strong coffee and get ready for this ride.
Michael and Amanda were married exactly 41 1/2 hours prior to the writing of this post, and what a day it was!
From my very first meeting with Amanda I knew her fabulous sense of style would exude throughout this wedding day.
Glam, modern, romantic and fresh.
So of course we began at the ever marvelous Hotel Donaldson in Downtown Fargo.
The stunning art and architecture made a glorious backdrop for Amanda’s wedding gown.
HELLO, amazing bridesmaids dresses!
I loved the mismatched sparkle.
I feel the need to dwell on the blending of textures for a moment longer. Indulge me.
And we can’t forget the happy couple’s wedding rings.
Michael’s ring is a custom wood ring with a guitar string embedded…lovely, no?!
Amanda was just a teeeensy bit excited to be getting married. 🙂
And then it was time for Michael, lovingly referred to as “Schenny” by all his friends, to see his bride.
When I met him at the HoDo rooftop, he was all nerves and excitement.
And when he saw his bride, he was wrecked.
In the best possible way.
Through flying coat tails and windblown veils, these two took time to breathe in the moment.
Then we moved into portraits. I love the boutonniere Amanda designed for her groom:
This bouquet?! WOWZA.
Downtown Fargo, you’re looking great today…
Shooting through the storefront of the HoDo was a dream…
And we need to pause here.
BRIDAL PERFECTION AHEAD….
I’m just warning you.
Amanda, you are STUNNING!!!!!!!
So classy.
One thing I love about Michael and Amanda are their expressive faces. 🙂
And in this photo, they almost match!
I hear that’s what happens to old married couples….
Peek-a-boo kisses.
As I sorted through these images, I kept coming back to this one.
“Oh, hello, I’m just walking down the street looking drop dead gorgeous…”
Time to bust out the glitter! It took a few tries, but we nailed a few fun shots.
Thanks to a couple bridesmaids for stepping in and blowing some glitter for us.
Gentlemen:
And ladies…
When Amanda told me “head to toe sequins” and “First Lutheran Church”, this image started brewing in my mind.
Even though they were getting married in the more modern chapel, I’m glad Amanda trusted me to take this one!
This is apparently what happens when I watch too much BBC television while I’m at the gym.
Below right? CRACKS. ME. UP.
Ella the Enchanted stopped by for a few portraits!
And yes, I know…that was portrait overload. But how could I help myself?
Ceremony time!
Ian, the 25 year old ring bearer. Stole the show. Right from under the bride’s nose.
Sorry, Amanda.
Here comes the bride!
As Amanda was entering the doorway, I saw this happening out of the corner of my eye.
Although everyone else was turned to watch the aisle, Julie chose to enjoy the moment through the eyes of her son.
Everyone, meet Amanda’s friend, Zach.
I feel he deserves a major shout out in this post. Not only did he sing at the ceremony,
he designed the custom font on all of the stationary, planned and organized the decorating of the entire reception hall
and MADE THE BOUQUETS. And probably a million other things that I didn’t hear about.
Some people get all the talent. For real.
This song was beautiful!
Hand fasting ceremony:
And we have newlyweds!
Amanda instructed her guests to dress for the red carpet… I loved seeing all the style!
On our way to the reception at The Avalon,
we stopped for a couple photos by the iconic Fargo Theater.
Re-created engagement photo. (view that session here)
Oh you know, just lighting up Broadway.
Back at the Avalon, everything was looking resplendent.
Amanda’s reaction to seeing the reception hall was fun to watch!
What a fun and AMAZING day.
Thank you for having me along, Michael and Amanda.
I loved every minute.
Best wishes as you begin your Happily Ever After!
