If this is a dream, please don’t wake me up! Last week I felt like I stepped into a fairytale while taking these Detroit Lakes Ice Palace Engagement Photos for Weston & Jocelyn. Can you believe the community of DL harvested giant ice blocks out of Detroit Lake and used them to build a shimmering, 30′ palace right on the edge of the beach?!!? As soon as I heard about the palace, I knew I had to find a way to shoot there. Jocelyn’s dress was custom sewn by her mom, Cynthia, and the floral bouquet and crown were made by the wildly talented ladies at Love Always Floral.  Executing a shoot like this during in mid-day light in -11 temps is enormously challenging from a technical perspective. Weston & Jocelyn were incredible and so patient with the process, and the staffing at the palace were so kind to help us with access to the palace and warm-up breaks in a nearby building. I’m SO GRATEFUL to them, and stinkin’ excited we pulled this off!!!
